چکیده

Abstract This study investigates the spatiotemporal characteristics of human-perceived temperature (HPT) data, which describe joint effects and humidity on human body, examines related large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns for summer season (July–August) in South Korea using trend composite analyses. The increasing HPT was stronger than that maximum, mean, minimum temperatures during 1981–2018. There an abrupt change between 1981–2009 2010–18, is likely caused by northward upper-level subtropical jet, strengthened downward motion, anomalous anticyclones around Korea, increased sea surface over western North Pacific Ocean, are to enhancement expansion high (WNPSH). These results highlight importance activity WNPSH variability Korea. When edge located northwest, a positive geopotential height anomaly at 500 hPa centered associated with low relative humidity. southwestern extension modifies wind pattern brings warm moist air from West (Yellow) Sea along ridge line WNPSH. Eventually, it leads extreme HPT, particularly southern part country. Therefore, we concluded monitoring predicting location understanding mechanism factors influencing movement under global warming necessary coping HPT.

Changes in the Seasonal Cycle of Temperature and Atmospheric Circulation

The vast majority of variability in the instrumental surface temperature record is at annual frequencies. Systematic changes in the yearly Fourier component of surface temperature have been observed since the midtwentieth century, including a shift toward earlier seasonal transitions over land. Here it is shown that the variability in the amplitude and phase of the annual cycle of surface tempe...

Influence of atmospheric circulation patterns on dust transport during Harmattan Period in West Africa

This study has used TOMS AI as well as the reanalysis dataset of thirty-four years (1979-2012) to investigate the influence of atmospheric circulation on dust transport during the Harmattan period in West Africa, using Aerosol Index (AI) data, obtained from various satellite sensors. Changes in Inter-Tropical Discontinuity (ITD), Sea Surface Temperature (SST) over the Gulf of Guinea, and North ...
